NEIGHBORHOOD OF THE TRINITY OR OF THE STREET ALBORAYA

VIRGIN OF THE CUSTODY, 1 of January

This dedication we find it in the Monastery of St. Christopher. It is very wanted by the Community of nuns and it makes "custody", that is to say, the image is put on the cell of the nuns when sicken. It is celebrated the first day of the year, festivity of Holy Maria God Mother.

ST. DOMINGO SOL, 29th January

This celebration is performed by the Comunidad de operarios Diocesanos in the colegio Pío XII that is governed by them and to which attend a good number of scholastic of the neighbourhood. It is celebrated with a ludic session and a Mass in the courtyard of the Association.

FALLAS OF VALENCIA, 15 to the 19 March

Two commissions have its demarcation within neighbourhood of the Trinitat, the Falla Trinidad-Alboraya and the Falla Molinell-Alboraya. They are put large monuments that they are grass of the flames the night of San José (19-03). Monumental flowers offering, fireworks...

SAN JOSÉ ARTESANO, 1st May

We can not let of mentioning the celebration to San José Artesano of Bellus street . It emerged after being built the blocks of Molinell street. Its neighbours began this celebration that was performed every first of May . In the arches is installed an altar where it is raised the image of the holy. Also they accomplish an offering in the Basilica de la Virgen de los Desampardos.

CHRIST-CHILD OF PRAGA, 1st Sunday of June

It worth a mention, the feasts in honour to the Christ-Child of Praga at the beginning of June, also in the Carmelites. They always have had in the children an essential element of the celebration.

VIRGIN OF THE CARMEN, 16th July

The Monastery of Our Mrs. of the Carmen de los PP Carmelitas celebrates to its mariana)dedication(related to the Virgin Maria). It is important to emphasize the feasts that was celebrated in the forties and fifties, that gathered all the neighbours around Virgin every 16th July.

VIRGIN OF THE REFUGE, 3th Sunday of September

In the Monastery of the Trinidad, it continuous being celebrated the feast of Nuestra Señora Refugio de Pecadores. This painting it is located in one of the lateral altars of the church, today it welcome the esforzadas clavariesas that preserve this centennial tradition. This confraternity celebrates a Christmas concert, that is very attended by the inhabitants of the neighbourhood.

SAN BERNAT Y LES GERMANETES , 23th July

There were another celebrations, already disappeared, that was celebrated in Alboraya street and concretely in the Monastery of the Trinidad, where it existed an ancient feast to the Santos Bernardo, Maria y Gracia, popularly known as " Sant Bernat y les germanetes" patrons of Alzira. Alboraya street celebrates these feasts because the saints were located in some niches in the bridge of the Trinidad , already disappeared too.

VIRGIN OF THE ROSARY, 7th October

Fiesta de la Virgen del Rosario it is not celebrated at external level. It had a great popularity in this monastery in the forties.

SAGUNTO AND SAN ANTONIO NEIGHBOURHOODS

SAN ANTONIO ABBOT, 17th January

Almost at the end of Sagunto street we find the feasts of San Antonio Abbot, in the church of the same name and every 17th January it joined numerous devout of all the city. Horses and mules come from the fields that surround the town and numerous domestic animals attend to receive the benediction from the Holy. An ancient tradition was consisting of drinking water of the "campaneta" to have a good diction. The eve a bonfire is burnt at Primado Reig Avenue – Sagunto street crossing.

SAN PASCUAL BAILÓN , 17th May

The feast of San Pascual Bailón is celebrated in Ruaya street, the nearest weekend to 17th of May, where it exists, from 2003, a blue-tiled altarpiece of the Santo villarrealense.

CHRIST OF THE FAITH , Whit Sunday

This image whose holiday is celebrated from 1604 in whit Sunday (fifty days after Easter). It leaves in procession the following Tuesday from to the parish of El Salvador and Santa Mónica.

VIRGEN DE LOS DESAMPARADOS, Sunday of the Trinidad

This confraternity was founded in 1911 in honour to the patron of Valencia and itt celebrates its feast on Sunday of the Trinidad. There is a procession on Whit Tuesday in Sagunto street district. The name of "the Rosquilleta" comes from the usage of giving to its associates a rosquilleta instead of a sponge cake or a small cake that others confraternities gave the day of its celebration.

SANT VICENT MARTIR, 22th January

During the day of the festivity the church of Santa Monica is maintained opened, to venerate the column to the one which the saint was tied in the year 304 AC. In 2007 was celebrated a proclamation of the feasts for the first time.

VIRGIN OF THE CONSOLACIÓN AND CORREA, 1st Sunday of May

This image originates of the ancient Convent of San Julián after the demolition of this. in 1946 the image is moved to the church of Santa Mónica. Its festivity is in September but the celebrations were happened to the first Sunday of May. Ther is a procession on Tuesday of Pentecost with the Confraternities of the Cristo de la Fe y la Virgen de los Desamparados. http://www.callesagunto.com
